Saving My Tail

Sometimes I vent about WallE and his attitude on this blog. Today, I am grateful for his attitude and his love of jumping in the arena. In Monday's lesson we worked on me seeing the distance and maintaining a powerful canter to the fence (all things I am not good at, not comfortable with and do not like). However, no matter how many times I saw the long without the powerful canter, deflated the canter to the speed of the walk, got left behind and/or got ahead of the motion, WallE stayed game for the lesson and kept me on his back.

It is a special kind of horse that jumps a three foot fence from almost the halt and then canters forward after to keep his rider on. Days like Monday make me so grateful for WallE and his spirit. Because, for the most part he likes me and wants me to stay on his back. He must, because he had many opportunities to let me fall off on Monday.

So thanks WallE for saving my tail over and over again.
