Group Lesson (2)

Yesterday WallE and I joined a beginner group lesson. The lesson riders focused on learning to ride corners in a dressage arena and just maintaining basic control of their horses. There was LOTs of walking time for WallE and myself. I thought this was very good for him. We walked on contact most of the time, practicing our leg yields on the long sides and 15 meter circles in the corners (when appropriate). We continued this during the group trot - working to stay focused and stay out of the other riders' way. He did get a bit fussy when we stood still listening to instruction or waiting for our turn to serpentine. After the lesson concluded, we ran through Novice Test A. I was very pleased with how fast WallE was able to focus and the geometry of our test overall.Â
