Weekend Summary
With our first Novice CT next weekend, I set a full jump course (3' height) up for WallE and myself. I had a sprinkling of oxers, verticals and skinny jumps (made out of flowerpots and flower boxes). I videoed our entire school with the hopes of getting some good pictures, only to discover it quit videoing as soon as I walked away.
WallE and I warmed up over the skinnys as some were less than three foot. No refusals and no fuss. WallE was happy and focused to jump. We went through the entire thirteen jump course three times. The first time, I forgot where I was going, but the second two times were relatively good. No knocked poles and I felt like we were moving forward (though there is no video to prove one way or the other). We continuously struggled with the last jump, a vertical on a long approach. We tried that jump again a few times after the courses and finally had success using a different approach.
WallE and I went on a long trail ride for cool down and then he went back into his pasture.
Sunday, WallE looked longingly over the fence the entire day. So at the end of the day, we went on a bareback trail ride with Diamond and Butterscotch. WallE spooked once. Other than that, the trail was uneventful.
It was a great riding weekend.
