Windridge

WallE, Guy and I headed out EARLY Saturday morning. We drove to Gastonia to pick up another horse and then headed with Windridge Horse Trials.

Upon arrival we discovered WallE had a cut from getting on the trailer. The other riders recommended Silver Spray. I had never heard of this...but I found someone who had it and used it for the first time. WallE and I went into the dressage arena with a huge Silver dot on his hip.

In the dressage WallE was a little stiff and not quite as supple as he has been. However...he has been teaching beginner lessons the past few weeks and my rides have been scarce. Our test improved as we went along and the last three or four moves were fantastic!

For the show jump, the warm up was my nightmare...on a hill, horses and people everywhere and lots of commotion. WallE responded to my feelings and was a little spicy. In the show jump field things went fine. He was forward and silly, but we left everything up and finished with time to spare.

The next day for Cross Country, our times had been changed. We arrived 20 minutes before our time to warm up and were told it was our time to go. WallE and I trotted/cantered up the hill to the start box and just went.

WallE was fantastic. We jumped the first jump and landed in a confident canter. We went on to jump all the fences and even canter through the water. It was our best cross country ride to date. I was very pleased.

Guy had the trailer backed up and loaded once we returned to the stable. We took care of WallE and then Guy drove us home.
